Fraud Prevention Guidelines

How we verify authors, detect payment fraud and how to protect yourself and report abuse.

Last updated 22 October 2026 · DEV3 Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

1.Our commitment

Buyers trust that items are genuine and authors trust that they will be paid. We combine identity verification, payment-risk controls and active moderation to protect both, and we act quickly on reports.

2.Author identity verification

Every author completes multi-step verification before items go live or earnings are paid. Uploaded identity or business documents are checked by an AI model for authenticity signals, expiry and name consistency with the account and payout holder.

Our code computes a verification score from those structured checks: high-confidence submissions are approved, mid-range scores go to a trained reviewer, and low scores are rejected with a reason. Every rejection can be appealed for human review. Verified authors display the Verified Author seal.

3.Payment fraud controls

Payments are processed by Razorpay with 3-D Secure and risk scoring. In addition we monitor:

  • Prices are always recalculated on our servers — client-side totals are never trusted.
  • Every payment confirmation is verified with a cryptographic signature before fulfilment.
  • Velocity checks on cards, accounts and IP addresses, and unusual geography or device changes.
  • Repeat refund requests and patterns of buy-download-refund behaviour.
  • Self-purchases or coordinated purchases intended to manipulate rankings.

4.Never pay outside DEV3 checkout

DEV3 staff and authors will never ask you to pay by bank transfer, UPI to a personal handle, gift cards or cryptocurrency for Marketplace items or support. Only payments made through DEV3 checkout are covered by buyer protection.

Marketplace chat automatically flags messages containing payment links, phone numbers or email addresses shared to move a deal off-platform. Repeated attempts lead to account suspension.

5.Recognising phishing

Legitimate emails from us come only from the dev3.tech domain. We will never ask for your password, one-time code or full card details by email, chat or phone.

  • Check the sender address and hover over links before clicking.
  • Sign in by typing our address directly rather than through emailed links when in doubt.
  • Enable multi-factor authentication on your account.

6.Chargebacks and disputes

If you do not recognise a charge, contact us first — most issues are resolved faster through our refund process than through a bank dispute. Fraudulent chargebacks on items that were downloaded and used are contested with download and activation evidence.

When a chargeback succeeds, the licence is revoked and the corresponding author earnings are reversed in the ledger.

7.Reporting fraud or abuse

Report suspected fraud, phishing, stolen items or security vulnerabilities to security@dev3.tech. Include relevant links, order numbers and screenshots. We acknowledge reports within one business day and keep reporters’ identities confidential.

8.Consequences

Depending on severity, we may remove items, withhold or reverse earnings, suspend or permanently close accounts, and report matters to law enforcement and the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) as required under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
